Juniata County Commissioners meet briefly

No meeting to take place Nov. 5 due to election

MIFFLINTOWN — During a brief business meeting on Tuesday, the Juniata County Commissioners took the following action:

¯ Adopted a resolution appointing the county’s maintenance director, Rich Fisher, as Section 504 compliance officer and established a fair housing grievance procedure as per Americans With Disabilities Act requirements.

¯ Approved the distribution of 2018 and 2019 Marcellus Shale Open Space funds in the form of two, one-time $25,000 competitive grants contingent upon municipalities meeting the requirement for eligible projects. The distribution of those funds will utilize the current application process which will be sent to municipalities in the near future, Commissioner Alice Gray said.

¯ Approved payment of bills in the amount of $60,726.99.

¯ Announced there will be no meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 5 due to the general election.

The Juniata County Commissioners regularly meet at 10 a.m. each Tuesday at the Bousum Building in Mifflintown. The commissioners’ next meeting is Oct. 29.
