Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯Bad checks — Jeremy Ross, 38, of Huntingdon, wrote a bad check on Feb. 26, totaling $129, to Hildebrand Motor Company in Menno Township.

¯Theft — Sometime between March 15 and 20, an unknown actor stole a County Line 22 log splitter, located outside of 5059 Middle Road in Tuscarora Township, belonging to a 51-year-old female, of Honey Grove.

¯Drug Possession — During a traffic stop of a 2004 Acura on March 23, William Thornton, 19, of Harrisburg, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and a warrant was discovered for his passenger, Bradford English, 19, of Bethlehem.

¯Crash — On March 23, Ian McCloskey, 20, of Philadelphia, was traveling east on state Route 322 in Fermanagh Township in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he traveled off the left side of the roadway and truck the concrete barrier with the driver’s side rear quarter panel.

The vehicle traveled back across both lanes of travel and struck the concrete barrier along the right side of the roadway with its right front bumper, then traveled back across the right lane of travel and came to rest in the left lane of travel, facing northeast. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The airbag deployed and McCloskey was wearing his seat belt. McCloskey refused treatment for suspected as minor injuries. Mifflintown Fire Co., Granville Township Fire Police, Central Juniata and Port Royal EMS assisted on scene.

¯Crash — On March 24, Casey Caruso, 20, of Hummelstown, was operating a 2006 Honda Accord while traveling east on state Route 322 in Armagh Township in the vacinity of Seven Mountains, when he left the roadway and struck the runaway ramp, consisting of piled stone and gravel. Caruso sustained serious injuries and was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. His vehicle was towed from the scene and Milroy Fire and Hose Co. assisted on scene.

¯Crash — On March 25, Sandra L. Waterhouse, 57, of Liverpool, was traveling eastbound on Turkey Valley Road in Susquehanna Township when she lost control of her 2017 Kia Soul, drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The rear passenger door area made initial impact with the tree. The vehicle continued in an eastbound direction, striking the stop sign before coming to final rest just east of Park Road. Waterhouse sustained serious injuries, including a broken leg and bruising to her torso. She was transported to Holy Spirit Hospital by Liverpool EMS.

¯Crash — On March 28, the trailer attached to a 2017 Peterbilt truck, operated by Gary Davis, 49, of Florence, S.C., was struck by an unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle was attempting to back into a parking spot in Tom’s Travel Center in Armagh Township when it struck the trailer, causing minor damage. The vehicle then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

¯DUI — On April 7, police conducted a traffic stop of a 2005 Honda minivan on the Cedar Street/Eighth Street extension and determined the operator, Jonathan Elliott, 38, of Lewistown, was under the influence of alcohol.

Lewistown Borough Police

¯Traffic accident — On April 13, Justin Phillips, 32, of Bethlehem, caught wires from the Lewistown Lanes sign onto his tractor and trailer while he was attempting to turn the vehicle around. The sign was torn down as a result. United Fire and Rescue assisted in removing the wires and sign from the vehicle.

¯Traffic accident — On April 14, Jeffrey Conrad, 53, of State College, was driving a 2014 Kia behind a 2012 Peterbilt tractor and trailer, operated by Eric Southern, 29, of Hiram, Ga. Southern was on the ramp to Electric Avenue when he thought the road was restricted, so he stopped on the ramp and began to back up, striking Conrad’s vehicle in the front bumper. No injuries were reported.

¯Traffic accident — On April 21, Connie Varner was operating a Kia Sorento, traveling south on Bratton Avenue, when she swerved to miss striking an animal and subsequently struck a Honda CRV, operated by Shawn Pappas. The impact caused Pappas’ vehicle to slide back and strike a Toyota Yaris. No injuries were reported.

¯Traffic accident — On April 24, Gregory Miller, 37, of Allensville, was watching a pedestrian along the side of on Valley Street while operating a 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck. Miller said he was trying not to strike her and did not realize traffic had stopped, causing him to strike the rear end of a 2018 Hyundai, operated by Amber Truscott, 25, of Lewistown. Damage to both vehicles was minimal.

¯Traffic accident — On April 25, Dillon Heimbach fell asleep while driving a Pontiac Grand Am east on Market Street, causing the vehicle to stroke a concrete flower bed on the sidewalk.

¯Traffic accident — On April 27, Alaina Kreydatus was driving east on West Water street when she struck the driver’s side door of Joseph Ross’s vehicle as he opened it. Neither driver required EMS treatment and Ross’s vehicle was towed, since the door would not shut.

¯Traffic accident — On April 27, Kathleen Howell, 66, failed to stop at a red traffic signal on West Third and North Juniata streets, causing her vehicle to strike a vehicle operated by Harry Beers, 37. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

¯Traffic accident — On May 1, Paul Miller, 83, was attempting to drive on to 322 west when he struck a vehicle operated by Shawn Gosnar, 46, while merging.

¯Traffic accident — On May 2, a 4-year-old female ran out onto North Brown street from behind a parked car. Sharee Fisher, 53, was unable to stop her vehicle and struck the child, running over the child’s foot. The child was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital to treat her injuries.
