Carvell to run for school board director position
MIFFLINTOWN — Malinda (Mindy) Carvell is seeking the Region 2, Fayette Township school board director position. She is a lifelong resident of Juniata County, graduating from East Juniata High School and Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology.
She would like to see the district run in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner. Malinda feels that allowing the community to have questions answered and taking their concerns seriously is the only way that the board can truly represent the community they serve.
Malinda attends Bunkertown Church of the Brethren where she serves a meal coordinator and helps with VBS. She is involved in developing a 4-H club that will focus on teaching kids responsibility through dog training and care as well as assisting with activities in other 4-H clubs. She is a member of Farm Bureau, Keystone Goat Producers Association, and various other community groups.

In an effort to receive input from the community, Malinda is holding an informal meet and greet at Sal’s OIP in McAlisterville on Tuesday, April 16th from 7-8 pm. Other new candidates for school board that plan to attend are Doug Kline- Delaware and Susquehanna Township, Kenneth DuPree- Mifflin, Mifflintown, and Thompsontown Boroughs and Jennie Guilfoyle- Beale and Milford Townships. All other candidates are welcome to attend.
