Local man charged with soliciting a prostitute

STATE COLLEGE–A Lewistown man was charged Monday in Centre County with criminal solicitation and patronizing prostitutes, after admitting to police he paid more than $100 for sex with one woman, court documents indicate.

Documents state that 38-year-old Travis K. Horner admitted to law enforcement officials from both the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and State College Police Department that he had responded to an online advertisement and made arrangements to meet Yu-Ying Yeh and Tsai-Hsia Wu for sex on Jan. 31 at the Super 8 motel on South Atherton Street. Horner told police he paid one of the women $140 to engage in sex with him, that he was quoted $160 for one hour and $300 for both girls and that he met girls like this “infrequently.”

Documents indicate police and the attorney general’s office were conducting a joint investigation into a human trafficking/prostitution ring, about which they had received a tip from Brookville Police Department, during its own prostitution investigation. Managers of the motel confirmed that Yeh and Wu had reserved a room there on Dec. 29 and were scheduled to check out on Feb. 4, according to court documents. Documents state that Horner, as well as Victor Shveke and Harold Geise, both of State College, were observed entering and exiting the room the girls had rented during the agencies’ surveillance on Jan. 31.

Documents state that Shveke and Geise also admitted to police that they had each paid for sex with Yeh and Wu.

Yeh and Wu were also apprehended on Jan. 31, during an attempt to check out of the motel earlier than they had planned, according to court documents. Yeh told police the prices she charges for various sex acts, that she sees 10 to 20 customers a week and that she pays someone in Las Vegas to post advertisements for her online. She also said that she pays this same operator a fee for each “customer” she has and that it was this operator who had booked the room at the motel in State College.

Court documents state that Horner, Shveke and Geise were each arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal solicitation and patronizing prostitutes. Each are scheduled for a preliminary arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Carmine Prestia Jr. on April 17, according to court documents.

Starting at $2.99/week.
