Police: Sleeping driver cause of crash on US 322

REEDSVILLE — One person was flown to an unspecified medical facility after having been ejected during a single-vehicle accident Friday evening in Brown Township.

Mifflin County Regional Police Department said the driver fell asleep while traveling eastbound on U.S. 322 near the Reedsville/Belleville exit when the vehicle drifted into the median and struck the tension cable system, becoming entangled in it and causing the vehicle to turn onto its passenger side in the median.

There were two adults and two children in the vehicle at the time of the crash. One of the adults was ejected from the vehicle and flown to an unspecified medical facility.

Police did not publicly release the names of the victims as of press time Friday.
