Police: Medical incident leads to weekend accident

BURNHAM — An unknown medical incident was reportedly the cause of a Saturday afternoon crash in Burnham Borough, according to a news release from the Mifflin County Regional Police Department.
According to the release, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Richard Hackenberg, of Lewistown,
was traveling east on West Freedom Avenue and suffered from a sudden medical condition,
causing him to strike the
vehicle of Melissa Bollinger, of Lewistown. After hitting Bollinger’s vehicle, Hackenberg continued across the intersection hitting the former Mattress
World building, owned by
Guy McCardle, of Lewistown.
Hackenberg was transported
to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital by Fame EMS and police
were assisted at the scene
by Burnham and Reedsville fire
companies and Burnham Fire
Police.
