Mental health outpatient clinic opening in Mifflintown

Tele-psychiatry will be available

MIFFLINTOWN –The ReDCo Group, based out of Pottsville, is announcing its newest location in Mifflintown to provide Juniata County with a mental health outpatient clinic.

Jill Bainbridge, director of ReDCo, said many rural areas are lacking access to quality psychiatric services and this office will offer individual, group and family therapy as well as psychiatric services including evaluation and medication management provided through tele-psychiatry.

Fore more than six years, the ReDCo Group has embraced the use of technology to provide access to care in rural communities through the use of Tele-psychiatry. With assistance, patients will log into a secure network, that is encrypted and HIPAA compliant, where they will talk with a doctor, face-to-face, in real time.

“These services bridge the gap often found in rural communities, connecting highly qualified and specialized psychiatrists to individuals that otherwise would not have access to these providers,” Bainbridge said.

The Juniata site will offer access to two psychiatrists, Dr. Lesley Lewis and Dr. Natalie Belkin, with specialties in treating trauma, PTSD, as well as children and adolescents.

Services are open to children, adolescents and adults with mental health diagnosis, behavioral health and intellectual disabilities with Medicaid insurance. Patients may self-refer or can be referred by their doctor, hospital, school or human resource agency.
