Police report armed robbery

Information sought after Saturday night incident in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — Police are seeking information regarding an armed robbery that occurred late Saturday evening in Lewistown.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a panic alarm at approximately 11:51 p.m. Saturday at Sunoco/Subway, 230 Electric Ave., Lewistown, in Derry Township. Police arrived at the business within 30 seconds of dispatch and were advised the clerk has just been robbed at gunpoint and that the actor had fled just prior to the panic alarm being activated.

All neighboring agencies, including Lewistown Police Department, Granville Township Police Department, Armagh Township Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police and Department of Conservation and Resources, responded to assist and search the area for the actor.

The actor was described as a white male, approximately 5’10” to 6′ tall, thin, wearing all black clothing with his face covered by a dark-colored mask and displaying a handgun. The actor robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money and several cartons of cigarettes and was able to elude immediate detection by police. No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery, and the investigation continues.
