DeArment named as new UW director
LEWISTOWN — The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata has a new executive director.
Oksana DeArment will fill the vacancy created by Michael McMonigal’s departure in September.
“We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” said Michael McCurdy, board president, in a press release issued by the agency Monday afternoon. “Oksana will bring executive level administrative experience to this position, along with excellent motivational, communication, event planning and fundraising skills.”
DeArment is a graduate of Dickinson College. She is currently an administrative operations manager at Nittany Paper Mills. Her previous experience includes working as assistant vice president administration services and assistant vice president client relationship support at Kish Bank. She also has served as president of Friends of Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital and chair of Lewistown Borough Planning Commission.
DeArment lives in Lewistown with her husband, Steven, and daughter, Mackenzie.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to lead this great organization and to be part of its ongoing support of the community,” DeArment said. “I have long admired the work of the United Way as it promotes education, health and financial stability in Mifflin and Juniata counties.”
