Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

Theft – 6:30 – 10 p.m. – Oct. 15 – Police report that a purse and a Carhart coat were stolen from a Chevy Silverado owned by Capri Deann while it was parked at her residence in Port Royal.

The investigation is ongoing.

Theft- 12:25 p.m. – Oct. 13 – Police report that a Bushnell trail camera was stolen from Camp 3C215 on Wynn Gap Road, Lack Township, Juniata County.

Theft -6:30 p.m.-Oct. 13- Police investigated an incident of theft which occurred when unknown actor(s) obtained cell phone service using the account of Robin Yetter, 35, of Chestnut Ridge Road in McVeytown.

Burglary-11:30 a.m.-Oct. 16- Police report a burglary which occurred at 375 William Drive, Fermanagh Township, Juniata County.

The burglary occurred when four unknown actors entered the residence through an unlocked door before being run out of the house by a third party.

The incident is under investigation.

Criminal Mischief-10 p.m.-Oct. 10- Police report that on Route 333 Thompsontown, Delaware Township, Juniata County, Omari Perryman, 22, of Lewistown, allegedly destroyed the property of Katie Skinner, 20, of Port Royal.

Perryman was charged through District Court 41-3-01 for criminal mischief and other offenses.

Crash-3:03 a.m.-Oct. 15- Police report a crash occurred on Route 22, William Penn Highway, in the area of the Family Dollar Store.

According to police, Derrick Singer, 20, of Mifflintown, was traveling East on William Penn Highway when he veered off the roadway to the left and struck a utility pole. The vehicle spun clockwise before coming to a rest off the left side of the roadway.

No injuries were reported.

Pennsylvania State Police Huntingdon

Assault-11:30 p.m.-Oct. 10- Police report an incident of aggravated assault which occurred in the parking lot of the Hill Valley Road House bar.

According to police, Michael Mease Jr., 22, of Orbisonia, punched Benjamin Grove, 32, of Mount Union, in the jaw.

Grove was taken to J.C. Blair hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

Pennsylvania State Police Selinsgrove

Stolen Vehicle-6:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m.-Oct. 20-21-Police report that a black 1991 Chevrolet Lumina bearing the PA registration EBV8530 belonging to Judy Oldt, of Stage Road, McClure, was stolen form Lash Service Center, Spring Township, Snyder County.

Crash-12:22 p.m.-Oct. 23-Police report investigating a crash which occurred in West Beaver Township, Snyder County.

According to police, Kim Hart, 52, of McClure, was traveling South on County Line Road when she looked away from the roadway to adjust her lunch on the passenger seat and lost control of her 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer, left the East side of the road and struck a drainage ditch.

Fraud – Sept. 21 -Police have arrested and charged Anthony White, 35, of Maryland, with participating in a large credit card fraud case involving thousands of dollars.

On Sept. 21, police responded to Dairy Queen on West Fourth Street regarding suspicious purchases of gift cards worth several thousands of dollars by a man later identified as White after receiving a description of the man and his vehicle along with credit card information.

Officers learned that the credit card used in the transaction was a “cloned” credit card, or a copy of a real credit card belonging to a man in Nebraska.

Police issued a warrant for White and entered him into a national database and contacted law enforcement agencies in Maryland. White was arrested in Baltimore County, Md. on Oct. 20 and on Oct. 22, White waived his extradition and investigators from Lewistown Police and the district attorney’s office transported White to Mifflin County, where he was arraigned before District Judge Jack Miller and was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.

White is charged with access device fraud for possession use of counterfeit credit card and to obtain property. Additional charges are pending against White as the investigation continues.

Assault – 9:30 p.m. – Oct. 18 – Police charged Marc Anthony Smith, 26, of Lewistown, with assault as a result of investigation into a domestic incident.

Officers interviewed a female victim who reported an alleged domestic incident had taken place at a West Fifth Street residence. The female victim was found to be suffering from injuries that she alleged occurred when she was assaulted by Smith, her boyfriend.

The victim stated that Smith grabbed her during the alleged assault and shoved her to the floor and also struck her in the face. The victim was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Smith was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment and was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility to await further court action.

Police encourage any victim of domestic violence to call a 24 hour confidential hotline to access free services from the Abuse Network at 888-810-2444.

Drug possession – Oct. 16 – Police charged Tye Timothy Osborne, 29, of Granville Township, with possession of illegal drugs after finding paraphernalia as result of an investigation of a a drug overdose.

Osborne was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional facility on drug and probation violation charge to await further court action.

Drug possession – Oct. 20 – Police arrested Sarah Hornbaker, 27, of Lewistown, and charged her with illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hornbaker was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility to await further court action.

Pennsylvania State Police Selinsgrove

Illegal Dumping – Sept. 30-Oct. 4 – Police report investigating an incident of illegal dumping which occurred in Beavertown.

According to police, Stuart Ammerman, 19, of Mifflintown, and Natasha Mainus, 20, of Beavertown, illegally dumped approximately 10 bags of garbage on the property of Michael Trego, of Beavertown, between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4.

Both were charged in district court for scattering rubbish.

Theft – Oct. 17 – 10 a.m.-7 p.m. – Police report investigating an incident of theft, fraud and forgery.

According to police, Stephen Strawswer, 60, of McAlisterville. It was reported that some money was withdrawn from the bank account of Stephen Strawser, 60, of McAlisterville without his authority.

Criminal Mischief – Oct. 16-17 – 9 p.m.-10 a.m. – Police report that two mailboxes belonging to Melinda Burdge and Steve Gernert both of Mifflin were reported damaged by unknown individuals.

Armagh Township Police Department

Accident – 11:08 a.m. – Oct. 10 – A tractor trailer was disabled for about seven hours after it collapsed on itself near the runaway truck ramp on state Route 322 east, according to a report from police.

The tractor trailer, driven by David C. Austerman, of Falls Creek, was traveling east when the Krentzeman’s trailer he was pulling collapsed in the center causing metal pieces to hit a passing vehicle, driven by Edmund S. Woomer, of Bellefonte.

Austerman was able to get his vehicle out of the travel lane to avoid any other accidents.

There were no injuries and the trailer was cut apart and unloaded into other trucks causing a lane restriction.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.

Police were assisted by PennDOT, Armagh and Granville township fire police.

Pennsylvania State Police Huntingdon

Death – 5:30 p.m. – Oct. 9 – A 22-year-old male, of McVeytown, was found unconscious at Liverpool Park, Mount Union, and transported to JC Blair Memorial hospital, according to a report from police.

The male was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to the report, investigation continues.

Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

Lost Dog – Oct. 1 – State Police report that they responded to a report of a lost dog on Dry Valley Road, Decatur Township, Mifflin County.

The dog is described as a brown and white American Bull Dog, approximately one year of age, and goes by the name ‘Mason’

Anyone locating the dog should contact state police Lewistown at 717-320-1010 and reference incident number G04-1421788

Crash- 2 p.m. – Sept. 30 – State police report investigating an accident on Stodes Run Road, approximately 300 feet east of Creek Drive, Oliver Township, Mifflin County.

The crash occurred when Eric Cahn, 18, of McVeytown, was traveling west, allegedly driving too fast for rainy conditions and drove into the oncoming traffic lane while negotiating a right hand curve.

Faye Havice, 65, of Reedsville, who was traveling east, attempted to avoid collision with Cahn by driving to the far right portion of the roadway.

Cahn’s vehicle struck Havice’s in the east bound lane.

Both Suffered minor injuries.

Burglary – Sept. 15 – State police report the ongoing investigation of a burglary committed at Greenbar Self Storage, William Penn Highway, Delaware Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, sometime between Sept. 15 and 27, unknown actor(s) removed padlocks from two storage units and removed tools.

Among the larger items taken were a 36-inch Homelite chainsaw, 16-inch and 14-inch Poulan chainsaws, a blue, 4-foot tall Craftsman double drawer tool chest, several impact guns and other air tools, a red/black 5500 watt generator and a 12-foot stepladder. Miscellaneous hand tools with either “JH” or “Johnny Shindledecker” etched onto them were also taken.

Missing Person – 9:38 p.m. – Sept. 25 – State police report investigating a report of a missing person from U.S. Route 522, Oliver Township, Mifflin County.

Police responded to a report of a missing 23-year-old female. That person was located in Mount Union Borough later that evening.

Theft of Services -11:30 a.m. – Sept. 14 – State police report investigating an incident of theft of services at the Delaware Township Fire Department, Delaware Township, MIfflintown.

An unknown suspect disposed of garbage into the fire company dumpster without prior permission.

Pennsylvania State Police Huntingdon

Stolen Vehicle – 11:40 p.m. – Sept. 11 – State Police report that Stephon Hoover, 24, allegedly stole a vehicle from a residence on Railroad Street, Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon County.

The vehicle was recovered the next morning in the Huntingdon Borough.
