Cadet Noah Miller Stewart, son of Ken and Sherri Stewart, of Lewistown, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on June 13.

Stewart is a 2016 graduate of Mifflin County High School. While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in systems engineering. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Infantry branch and will report to Fort Riley, Kansas, for his first assignment.

Mackenzie Covert, of Orbisonia, was approved to receive a diploma from Kutztown University at the conclusion of the 2020 spring semester. Kutztown University will not hold a traditional spring commencement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a formal on-campus commencement ceremony will be held at a later date.

Caitlin Miller, of Yeagertown, earned a Bachelor of Science, nursing degree from Western Governors University.

Katherine Barton, of Millerstown, graduated from the University of Findlay with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree.

Trevor Bulick, of Milroy, graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Land and Energy Management on May 3.

Halie Shertzer, of Mifflintown, graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in biomedic science. She will also be attending Desales University in August to participate in its physician assistant program.

Wilkes University students to receive virtual degrees during a virtual conferral ceremony on May 16 and May 29 include:

¯Wyatt Brackbill, Mifflintown, Doctor of Pharmacy degree in pharmacy;

¯Maddie Kauffman, Burnham, Master of Science degree in education;

¯Jennifer Potts, Reedsville, Master of Science degree in education;

¯Luke Strawser, Lewistown, Master of Science degree in Education.

Allison Echard, of Lewistown, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and secondary education certification from Grove City College on May 16.

Obi Martin of Juniata County earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Bluffton University. Martin was the recipient of the English Distinguished Scholar Award. Martin graduated as a member of the 2019-20 Pi Delta Society.

Monica D. Brubaker, daughter of Eric and Michelle Brubaker of Mifflintown, graduated Magna Cum Laude from PA College of Health Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing on May 14. Brubaker also was a member of Psi Pi Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society as well as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Cheryl Martie, of McClure, graduated with Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University.

The following students received degrees from Susquehanna University on May 13. The commencement ceremony was broadcast to participants in a virtual format to ensure social distancing guidelines.

¯Morgan Markle, Millerstown, Bachelor of Science in psychology. Markle graduated from Greenwood High School.

¯Mahayla Seeger, Richfield, Bachelor of Science in biology. Seeger graduated from East Juniata High School.

Allison Kint, of Mifflintown, graduated from Coastal Carolina University in the spring 2020. Kint was a public health major.

Shawn Treaster, of McVeytown, graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York.

Treaster graduated fro the engineering science academic program.
