JVB appoints chief financial officer

MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata Valley Financial Corp. has appointed Michael W. Wolf to the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer at The Juniata Valley Bank.

Wolf, whose appointment took effect on June 1, has been employed by the bank since September 2021. He brings with him nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including public accounting and internal audit experience. He has served as a vice president at Middlefield Bank, Northwest Bank and Dollar Bank, and he has also held the title of controller at several community banks throughout his career.

Outside of the workplace, Wolf has served as a member of the Accounting Advisory Counsel for the Financial Managers Society. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a Certificate of Accounting from Robert Morris University.

Wolf’s commitment to community service is exemplified by the civic activities in which he participated while living in Western Pennsylvania: volunteer firefighter, and board member for such organizations as the American Red Cross, North East Area Chamber of Commerce, House of Hope, Erie Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and March of Dimes. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and history — with a focus on American Civil War history — and has recently become a member of the Juniata County Historical Society.
