Wilderness LCC opening at Lewistown Country Club
LEWISTOWN–New Lancaster Valley’s Wilderness Lodge brings it’s delicious food and cold beverages to Lewistown with The Wilderness at LCC. Located in the Lewistown Country Club, the restaurant has a pleasant view of the golf course and surrounding landscape with indoor and outdoor seating available.
Owner Dustin Pollock and general manager Dan Stokes each have spent decades in the restaurant business and hope to use that knowledge to provide customers with an excellent dining experience. The idea of opening a Wilderness location at the country club is one that has been floating around for awhile. “A lot of members here (Lewistown Country Club) come out to the Wilderness in New Lancaster Valley for dinner with their families or just come out after golf. They would jokingly asked us about possibly doing something like this.” Stokes said, “At the time we felt we weren’t ready to do something like that. As time went on our business has picked up a lot and we had built a great team out there.” Then in November of 2019 Pollock and Stokes were asked again, jokingly, if they were ready to put a restaurant at the country club. This time the two said they were, which put into the motion the steps needed to make the idea made in jest a serious reality. After renovating the existing space at the country club the Wilderness at LCC is now open for business.
On The Wilderness at LCC menu you will find a variety of items including ribs, burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches and salads, as well as, their famous chicken wings. The restaurant also has a full bar with a selection of beer, liquor and cocktails. “They’re similar (the menus) . They have some things like the wings that we’re known for, but they are two totally separate menus.” Pollock said. Stokes added that the Wilderness at LCC menu has the “same idea” of food but with a different twist from the New Lancaster Valley location.
The Wilderness at LCC not only offers food, beverages and takeout, but they provide cart service on the weekends providing drinks and snacks for golfers. At the turn by the club’s swimming pool they have Maxwell House which serves, hotdogs, gatorade, water, beer and snacks. The Wilderness at LCC have also taken over control of the club’s banquet room which allows them to cater banquets and offer catering services off site as well.
