Farm-to-table gala tickets on sale

BELLEVILLE — Mifflin County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee and the Young Ag Professionals are hosting a Farm-to-table gala Aug. 25 at Brookmere Winery. Cocktail hour will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow.

The goal of the event is to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers and make local consumers aware of the fresh, nutritious products available locally.

Planners are working with our local producers to source as many menu items as possible from the area. Some of the local producers are Tea Creek Farms, Reedsville Creamery, Let-Us Grow, Horningford Dairy, Yoderway Farm and White’s Farm. Some of them should be at the event for guests to speak with.

A limited number of tickets are available at $25 each and they must be purchased by Aug. 1. Tickets are available at the winery, at Union Mill, by messaging the committee via Facebook or by calling or texting Rebecca Harrop at (717) 513-2158.

There will be a variety of cheeses available during the cocktail hour, and guests may receive one complimentary glass of wine. The dinner menu features salad, London broil, red skin potatoes, corn on the cob and green beans, along with a fruit dessert with ice cream.

Also included are an assortment of appetizers and other beverages.
