Submitted photo

Mifflin County Farm Bureau’s Young Agriculture Professionals (YAP) prepared and delivered 50 Thanksgiving meals to elderly persons and Shelter Services of Mifflin and Juniata County.

Thanksgiving morning was one of YAP’s community service projects. YAP members raised funds for the project by selling Mifflin County Farm Bureau Shirts, along with the following donations made the project possible.

Turkeys were donated by Nokota Harpster, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harpster, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Keller, and prepared by Grant Stufft.

The stuffing was donated by Hillary Benny and Anna Mackneer, corn casserole was donated and prepared by Megan Keller, mashed potatoes were donated and prepared by Taylor and Adam White, Silas Neer donated homemade rolls, and Leah Johnson donated whoopie pies for the dessert. Nokota Harpster, Rebecca Harrop, Megan Keller, Taylor and Adam White, Silas Neer, and Leah Johnson packed up the meals for delivery.

YAP membership would like to thank all those who contributed in any way to this project.

The YAP membership is also adopting a family again this year for Christmas and will be purchasing gifts for the family to brighten their holiday.

You will see the YAP members again this year in the Lewistown Kiwanis Christmas Parade with their float next Saturday.
