4-H Club getting ready for fair season
The Juniata County 4-H Dairy
Feeder Club met at 7 p.m. May 22, at Hoober Inc. at 7 p.m. President
Moriah Auker opened the meeting and asked for a volunteer to lead the club pledge.
Secretary Sarah Hershey took roll call and read the minutes from the April meeting. Treasurer Claire Moyer reported that we have $194.67 in our checking account.
Anna Shaffer presented her demo
on personalities of her calves. Volunteers for May’s meeting are Seth and Westin Landis and Austin Holler. Anna Shaffer and Moriah Auker are doing the fair exhibit for our club.
We then played a meat identification game. Moriah Auker won. The next meeting is at the Landis’s. If you’re having problems with your calves let Brad or Dina know. Moriah Auker adjourned the meeting at 7:50 pm.
On June 26, 2017 at 7 the 4-H
Dairy Feeder Club met at the Landis’s. Seth and Weston Landis gave demos
on what to do in the show ring with your animal and yourself. They showed
us how to set up your animal and
how to always look at the judge. We went over some of the questions you
may get asked by the judge in the show ring.
We were all given a new fair
schedule and we went over what time our weigh in, show, and sale will be. Our project books must be filled out
before the fair so we went over
some of the pages we have to
fill out.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15. Our July meeting will be a picnic at one of our leaders’ house.
