Park worker clearing vegetation finds human remains

NEWTOWN (AP) — Police say a worker found skeletal remains at a state park outside Philadelphia that are believed to be of a woman who went missing two months ago.

Police in Bensalem say a staff member found the remains while clearing vegetation on Tuesday at Tyler State Park in Newtown.

Officials say they believe the remains are of 21-year-old Lindsey Piccone of Bensalem.

Piccone was reported missing on Sept. 6. She didn’t have her cellphone and was last seen two days earlier. Her car was found at the 1,700-acre park.

A possible cause of death hasn’t been released.

State police and the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources are investigating.
