Spikes, Batavia rained out

BATAVIA, N.Y. – Friday night’s scheduled game between the State College Spikes and the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium was postponed due to rain in the Batavia area. The two teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games starting today at 5:05 p.m.

Pitching matchups for the games have not yet been determined. State College was originally slated to have right-hander Andrew Pierce (0-0) on the mound on Friday, while right-hander Helpi Reyes (0-1) was to make the start on the hill for Batavia. Saturday’s initial matchup was to have been Spikes right-hander Juan Bautista (0-2) against Muckdogs left-hander Jarlin Garcia (0-1).

The three-game series between the two teams will conclude Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. matinee game.
