BEA?bats prove too much for Indians

MIFFLINTOWN — Bald Eagle Area racked up 16 hits, including home runs by Dylan Bisel and Matt Reese, to hand Juniata a 12-8 defeat in nonleague baseball action on Wednesday.

The Indians (6-12) brought out the bats as well, collecting 11 hits with Jamie Bailer going 3-for-3. Teammates Devon Nealman and Nathan Berry each had two hits. Berry and Jacob Condo had two RBIs apiece for the Indians.

The Eagles (4-13) blew open a close game with six runs in the fifth to take a commanding 10-3 lead. Nealman took the loss for Juniata with Bisel getting the victory for BEA.

“Give credit to Bald Eagle. They pounded out 16 hits and didn’t leave many runners on base,” Juniata coach Nick Beward said. “We, on the other hand, left entirely too many guys stranded. We had one bad inning defensively, which was the difference maker.”
