Offense has big day for MC?softball

CARLISLE — Mifflin County broke the bats out in a 19-1 victory over Carlisle in Mid-Penn Conference softball Wednesday afternoon.

The Huskies had four batters — Olivia Ahern, Morgan Weston, Cassidy Wilson and Josie Kibe — finish with two or more hits with Ahern finishing with a perfect 4-for-4 line, hitting a double and driving in a game-high five runs.

Weston got the winning decision in the circle and helped her cause by driving in three runs. She also had the team’s only other double in the contest.

Mifflin County travels to Williamsport Monday.

WILLOW HILL — In what started as a close game turned ugly quickly as East Juniata fell to Fannett-Metal, 10-0, in non-league baseball Wednesday afternoon.

East Juniata allowed nine runs in the fourth inning, but couldn’t get any offense going for itself. Logan Wagner had East Juniata’s lone extra-base hit, a double.

East Juniata travels to Line Mountain today.

BEAVER SPRINGS — Midd-West struggled to get its offense going in a 10-3 loss to Mifflinburg in Heartland Conference baseball Wednesday afternoon.

Chase Mattern was the lone Mustang to record a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3. Marc Piccioni had the team’s only extra-base hit — a double.

Midd-West travels to Loyalsock Friday.
