Girls basketball

Chambersburg 72,

Mifflin County 29

CHAMBERSBURG — Hannah Aumiller was the one bright spot for Mifflin County in an otherwise dismal night as the Huskies fell to Chambersburg, 72-29, in Mid-Penn Conference girls basketball Wednesday night.

Aumiller drained five field goals, including three 3-pointers, and went 4-for-8 at the line for a 17-point performance.

“Hannah Aumiller had a really solid game tonight. It was really gutsy performance,” Mifflin County coach Roger Herto said. “It was obvious when returning from her shoulder injury the other night, she was not 100 percent. Tonight, she played her heart out.”

The Huskies were held to just nine points in the first half as Chambersburg scored at least 17 in every frame.

“They came out and scored early and often and pressed throghout. We handled the press a little better tonight,” Herto said. “Not having Molly (Wagoner) was a big adjustment for us defensively, and I had a feeling we would give up more points without her and we did tonight.”

Chambersburg also won the JV game, 24-16.

Mifflin County 5-10 hosts Harrisburg Friday.
