Haus claims Route 35 crown

SELINSGROVE — The 2018 Route 35 Dirt Late Model Challenge Series between Selinsgrove and Port Royal speedways is now in the history books with Hamburg’s Andy Haus claiming the third series title.

Haus closed out the series with a win at Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday.

With Haus’ win and resulting title, Port Royal will claim bragging rights for the second year in a row as one of its regulars claimed the point crown.

Port Royal’s Coleby Frye won the 2017 title while Selinsgrove’s Jeff Rine claimed the inaugural series crown in 2016.

The 2018 series found five of six slated races getting completed with Haus and Frye taking wins at Selinsgrove Speedway while three races completed at Port Royal found Rine, Ralph Morgan Jr. and Colton Flinner taking wins.

Haus ended the series with 579 points over Rine, 575; Mike Lupfer, 556; Dylan Yoder, 549; and Hayes Mattern, 528.

A total of eight drivers entered competition at all five races.

The top 10 in final 2018 series points will split a $4,600 point fund.
