SCHOLASTIC SPORTS

ELLIOTSBURG — Greenwood finished first in seven events and beat out five other schools to take first as a team at the Mustang Invitational at West Perry on Saturday.

The Wildcats finished with 145 total points to beat Dover (138), Hollidaysburg (97), Boiling Springs (73), West Perry (53) and Altoona (37).

The boys team placed fourth out of seven schools with 69 points.

West Perry won the team event, scoring 152 points. Hollidaysburg (118.5) and Dover (109) finished ahead of Greenwood. The Wildcats outlasted Altoona (41), Boiling Springs (37.5) and Carson Long (12).

Amiyah Priebe won two individual events and helped the 4×800 relay team — along with Samantha Schreiber, Brienna Hess and Leah Bryner — take first. Priebe won the 1,600- (5:46.93) and 3,200-meter (12:42.83) runs.

Mallory Kauffman won muliple events in the field, taking first in the shot put (41 feet- 3 3/4 inches) and discus (125-6).

Priebe was named the girls track MVP while Kauffman took the girls field MVP honors.

The Wildcats won three field events on the boys side with Damian Fisher winning two of those. He took first in the shot put (45-7 1/2) and javeline (162-9).

Fisher was named the boys field MVP.

Isaiah Tharp (116-3 in discus) had the team’s only other first place finish.

Greenwood travels to East Juniata on Tuesday.

Softball

Halifax 22, East Juniata 0 (3 innings)

COCOLAMUS — East Juniata could only pick up one hit in its 22-0 loss to Halifax in Tri-Valley League softball Saturday afternoon.

The game was called after three innings due to the 15-run rule.

Alyssa Robinson had the Tigers lone hit in the game.

The Wildcats collected seven extra-base hits (six doubles and home run) and had seven different players finish with mulitple hits in the contest.

Paige Trutt led the way with a 2-for-3 performance, hitting a home run and double for the Wildcats.

East Juniata hosts Muncy today.
