Reedsville wins 27-3, ties for league lead

REEDSVILLE – Reedsville took a tie for the top spot in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League on Friday, and it did so in a big way with a 27-3 win over McVeytown in five innings.

Now at 9-1, Reedsville will have a big game Sunday when it takes on Belleville at 7 p.m.

Friday’s win went to pitcher Carson King, who threw two strikeouts in two innings of work. Aaron Wagner also pitched two innings for Reedsville, and collected five Ks in the process.

Reedsville had 23 hits in the contest, including a home run and triple by Ryan Walker in this three-hit night. Others to collect multiple hits were Davis Wagner, Cade Attick and Aaron Wagner with four apiece, plus Aaron Kanagy and Garrett Hall with two. Both Wagners, Kanagy and Hall also had extra-base hits.

McVeytown only had three hits total.

Lewistown 12, Strodes Mills 4

LEWISTOWN – The West continued its win streak against Strodes Mills Friday, when Lewistown collected a 12-4 win during the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League contest.

Marcus Donahey notched 12 strikeouts and only allowed five hits in his complete-game effort.

Hunter Amrhein had a triple and two hits for Lewistown, while Kenny Cavanaugh, Ty Ferencz and Garret Treaster all had multiple hits for the winning team.

Nick Poche had two hits for Strodes Mills.
