Pannebaker wins second MVP award

East Juniata’s Jeremy Pannebaker was named the Tri-Valley League golf MVP.

This was the second consecutive year for Pannebaker to win the award.

“He has been an outstanding player for me the last three to four years,” East Juniata coach Mike Zendt said. “I’m going to miss him big time next year.”

Pannebaker didn’t shoot a round above 80 in the regular season, and went beyond success in the league to make the final round in District 4.

Junior Grant Leonard was also named to the conference’s first team.

Leonard will be back next year and will presumably take over as the Tigers No. 1 player.

“He’s been a steady player the last couple of years,” Zendt said. “He’s going to have to step up and be a leader. I think he’ll be able to do that.”

Heartland Conference

Ascher Marks and Aidan Edmiston represented Midd-West on the Heartland Conference Division I second team golf squad. Marks was selected as an All Star in his first year on the team.

“(It was a) good season as he got familiar with new golf courses,” Mustangs coach Brian Beward said.

Edmiston has been a mainstay for the Snyder County team, finishing his career with this icing on the cake.

“(I got) to see the improvement over the four years and to end his high school career with all-star honors,” Beward said.
