Strong pitching, 2-run blast lifts Predators, 5-1

LEWISTOWN – Lewistown had a two-run blast from Ryan Keefer to take the lead over Centre County Men’s League baseball opponent Pleasant Gap and a strong showing from the mound from Cody Heane as the Predators dropped the Peppers, 5-1, Thursday.

Heane pitched the full seven innings for the win, allowing just one run on four hits, and the offense was there to back him up.

Working off Keefer’s two hits and three RBIs in addition to a 3-for-3 night from Sean Heckert with two runs scored and also a Jay Hartman RBI, Lewistown put up five runs on its seven hits. Solid base running also proved crucial in the win.

Lewistown (6-3) will host Clarence at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
