We (Americans, especially English-speaking Americans - I can't tell if the others are doing it or not) seem bent on beating our language into submission. Words are being misused to the point where incorrect is being accepted as correct.

Trapped in a cell

There are times when I'd like to take every cellphone in service, put them all in a great big bag, and drop them into a black hole. I really think we'd all be better off.

"Hey, I could care less if anyone reads this blog." Think about that sentence for a moment. I could care less? Yes, I suppose I could care LESS, a lot less. The truth is that I care a great deal whether anyone reads this blog.

Misled by the search for truth

Oh, but that one does bother me, and not just for the reason that the word "at" is simply not necessary.
