Elinor Gail Cox, 79, of Burnham, died at 8:46 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, with all her children at her side.
Born March 10, 1935, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was a daughter of Charles Henry and Virgina Irene (Eichelberger) Heiston. Her husband, Joseph M. Cox Sr., preceded her in death on June 27, 2009.
Surviving are: children, Joseph M. Cox Jr. and wife, Diana, of Lewistown, Charlie Cox and wife, Cathy, of Yeagertown, Tina Lefevre and husband, Mike, of Yeagertown, Donald Cox and wife, Candy, of Lewistown, Tammy Harper, of Burnham, Terry Cox and wife, Marsha, of Yeagertown, and Scott Cox, of Burnham; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and siblings, Charles Heiston, of Lewistown, Harold Heiston, of West Virginia, and Esther Engstrom, of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Evan Holland, and a sister, Mary Ingram.
She was a business owner and cook at Gail & Tina's Restaurant, Lewistown, had worked at Long's Dairy Store, Chilcoat's 322 Diner and Weis Market Deli.
She was a member of The Eagles. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing the lottery. She was a multiple giver to numerous organizations. She retired as a cook, but still continued cooking for family and friends.
