Clyde D. ‘Danny’ Greenaway Sr.

Clyde D. "Danny" Greenaway Sr., 81, of 196 S. Main St., Lewistown, passed away Aug. 14, 2014, at 11:46 p.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 14, 1933, in Tyrone. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Violet (Pierce) Klinger and Howard Greenaway, as well as, three sisters, Sandy Pheasant, Rosalie Becker and Joyce Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife, Rebecca M. Greenaway, whom he married Oct. 26, 1968; his brothers, Melvin, of Mifflin, Terry, of Harrisburg, and Gary Greenaway and wife, Janet, of Lewistown; five children, Mary (Greenaway) Allen and husband, Donald, Clyde D. Greenaway Jr., Sally Greenaway, all of Lewistown, Christina (Greenaway) Wagner and husband, James, of Beavertown, and Timothy Greenaway and wife, Erin, of New York; two stepchildren, Joedy Arnold and husband, Richard, of Mifflintown and Kathy Hillman and husband, Matthew Sr., of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Clyde was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a carpenter by trade, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Shaw Ave., Lewistown, life member of the Junction and City Hook & Ladder fire companies and the Lewistown Owls Club.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting die-cast cars, going to the casino and fishing. He also enjoyed hanging out with friends at the Owls Club. He was a Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.

He will greatly be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 18 at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown with the Rev. Douglas D. Sherlock Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 Monday at the funeral home.

A private graveside interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
