Warren Boyd Estep Sr., 87, passed away Tuesday Aug. 5, 2014, at his home in Enola.
He was born July 31, 1927, in Hollidaysburg, to the late Clarence B. and Nancy Stewart Estep.
He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1945 and married Barbara Ann Taylor on Feb. 26, 1949. He retired from Gulf Oil Corp and the U.S. Army War College. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran during World War II and served with pride in Okinawa and China.
He was a member of the Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, BPOE No. 578, the West Shore Lodge No. 681 F&AM, receiving his third degree in Harrisburg. He was a life member of the Mechanicsburg VFW and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Island X1 Seabees of America, and a charter member of the World War II Memorial.
He is survived by: his wife, Barbara Ann; a son, Jerry Lee (Joann), of Enola; two sisters, Beverly Burdette, of Schwenksville, and Barbara Nevara of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sons, Warren B. Jr. and Richard A.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mount Holly Springs.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
