CROP walk planned for Juniata County
MIFFLINTOWN - The Juniata County Ministerium is still looking for a coordinator for the Juniata County CROP Walk. Interested individuals should call Graham Fowler at 463-3138.
The 2014 CROP Walk will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at Walker Township Park. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Everyone interested in walking is asked to pick up an information packet at 8 p.m. Aug. 6 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Licking Creek.
Weary invites public to investigate church
LEWISTOWN - Father William M. Weary, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Lewistown, and St. Jude Thaddeus Church, Mifflintown, invites area residents to investigate the Catholic church. First Baptist hosting community picnic
MIFFLINTOWN - First Baptist Church will host a Sunday School Picnic, beginning with a concert by the Skyline Boys at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mifflintown Park. A picnic meal will be held after the concert. Hot dogs and rolls will be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring a hot and cold dish to share. Guests also should bring beverages, place settings and lawn chairs for their own family. A ballgame will be held after the meal. Bring your own equipment.
If it rains, the picnic will be moved to the Family Ministry Center at First Baptist Church, on Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown.
Weiand family to talk about ministry
BELLEVILLE - Charles and Denise Weiand and children, missionaries to Rio Chico, Mexico, will visit Big Valley Alliance Church at 6 p.m. Sunday. They will talk about how God has been working in their lives and the lives of people in Rio Chico. An offering will be received to support the ministry. Big Valley Alliance Church is located at the Kish Street Senior Center, Union Township Building.
Lutheran church to host 'Sunday Sundaes'
REEDSVILLE - The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Reedsville will host its annual Sunday Evening Sundaes event at 6 p.m. Sunday at Bender Park, in Reedsville. Guests are invited to create their own ice cream sundaes. There will be games for the young and young at heart. Music will be provided by Greg Devecchis.
Gospel Strings set to present gospel music

Ministerium hosting outdoor service
McALISTERVILLE - The McAlisterville Ministerium will host the annual Fayette Community Outdoor Service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Lost Creek Community Park, McAlisterville. Terrific Tuesday camp to be held in Belleville
BELLEVILLE - Terrific Tuesday, a summer day camp program, is set to be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Belleville Playground. Camp is for children in pre-K through fifth grades.
Parents or guardians are required to register their child at the beginning of each session and sign out at the end of the day's program.

Griffith performing at Aug. 17 service
LEWISTOWN - Lisa Griffith will be singing during the 10:30 service Aug. 17 at First United Methodist Church in Lewistown. Griffith is a native of Belleville who now sings with the German Opera on the Rhine in Dusseldorf, Germany. She graduated from Kishacoquillas High School, then studied music and graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has given concerts throughout the world.
McVeytown church hosting family day
McVEYTOWN - Family Feud Fun Day is set to be held from 2-5 p.m. Aug. 30 at McVeytown United Methodist Church. There will be a scavenger hunt, games, music, crafts and prizes to help families learn more about Jesus. Dinner and awards will be held from 5-5:30 p.m.
