Anna Margaret Salopek, 91, passed away July 16, 2014, at St. Luke's Catholic Hospital, of The Woodlands, Texas, while surrounded by her family as she entered the spiritual heavens with our Lord.
Anna was born April 10, 1923, in Burnham. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Drozda. Her husband, John P. Salopek, whom she married in 1952, preceded her in death July 19, 1987.
She is survived by: siblings, Michael Drozda, Mary Drozda and Joseph Drozda; children Johanna Gregg, of Lewistown, Pauline Salopek, of Montgomery, Texas, and Christine Worley and her husband, Tom, of Spring, Texas; four grandchildren John McIntosh and his wife Carter, Dalton Worley, Chloe Worley and Dillon Worley; and one great grandchild Brayden McIntosh.
Anna was employed by Lewistown Sportswear and Scotties Clothing Fashions Factory. Anna was an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown. While raising her daughter's she was very active in the Girl Scouts of America. Anna's favorite pasttime was volunteering and managing the Sacred Heart Thrift shop, where she was one of the original founders of the store over 15 years ago.
Family and friends will be received for a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Barr Funeral Home. A funeral mass will occur 11 a.m., on Saturday, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. William Weary officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the service, family and friends are welcome at her home to celebrate her life.
Anna is now resting and will never be forgotten as she touched so many lives with her caring and gentle heart.
