To the editor:
To the person who called into the "Open Line" for the Wednesday, July 9 Sentinel and was complaining about Christians as they said "thumping their Bibles and telling every one we need to believe in only your God," as well as all those complaining when we tell others that homosexuality is a sin, I have a few things to say to you.
It is true that there is only one way to salvation and that is to accept Christ as your Savior. That is not what I say, it is what God says. I am not going to push anyone. I am not going to threaten anyone. If you feel intimidated, maybe that is The Holy Spirit convicting you. I and other Christians would be happy to tell you or anyone else how to receive God's salvation, but we will not force any one.
And yes, gay marriage is wrong because homosexuality is a sin and you will never get me to say otherwise. Call me what you want, I don't care. I do resent however, being compared with as you said, "the people on the other side of the world." If you are referring to the radical Islamic, there is no similarity. I would not compel or force anyone - that is not my job. That is the job of The Holy Spirit. But the radical Islamic would say "join us or die."
