Fortney to deliver morning message
HUNTINGDON - The Rev. Clarence Fortney will deliver the morning message at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Ardenheim Independent Brethren Church near Huntingdon.

CROP walk scheduled for Juniata County
MIFFLINTOWN - The Juniata County Ministerium is still looking for a coordinator for the Juniata County CROP Walk. Interested individuals should call Graham Fowler at 463-3138.
The 2014 CROP Walk will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at Walker Township Park. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Everyone organization interested in walking is asked to pick up an information packet at 8 p.m. Aug. 6 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Licking Creek.
Weary invites public to investigate church

LEWISTOWN - Chiz Rider will be in concert at 10 a.m. Sunday in the Canal House at Waterside Campground, in Lewistown. Rider is one of America's foremost professional trumpeters, touring and recording artists. He released his ninth album, "Live Worship," in 2011. Rider is performing with a newly-designed concert that incorporates a high-impact light show and large-screen video enhancement. Free admission.

Summer Art Camp set for Mifflintown
MIFFLINTOWN - Summer Art Camp is set to be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Mifflintown. There will be two classes held: Drawing Skills, for ages 13 and older, and Children's Painting and Drawing Class, for ages 6-12. Registration cost is $5 for all three days. LEWISTOWN - R.B. Powell and family, an instrumental group known as "Unusual Suspects" is scheduled to perform during the 10:45 a.m. worship service on July 20 at Lake Park United Methodist Church. The church is located on the corner of West Fourth Street and Crystal Springs Avenue.
First Baptist hosting community picnic
MIFFLINTOWN - First Baptist Church will host a Sunday School Picnic, beginning with a concert by the Skyline Boys at 4 p.m. July 27 at the Mifflintown Park. A picnic meal will be held after the concert. Hot dogs and rolls will be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring a hot and cold dish to share. Guests also should bring beverages, place settings and lawn chairs for their own family. A ballgame will be held after the meal. Bring your own equipment.
If it rains, the picnic will be moved to the Family Ministry Center at First Baptist Church, on Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown.
Local hymn sing to benefit health clinic
BELLEVILLE - A Big Valley Community Hymn Sing is set for 7-8:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church, in Belleville. An offering will be received for the Central Pennsylvania Clinic for Special Children and Adults. Donations are tax deductible and will be matched by the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Terrific Tuesday camp held in Belleville
BELLEVILLE - Terrific Tuesday, a summer day camp program, is set to be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. weekly on Tuesdays through July 29 at the Belleville Playground. Camp is for children in pre-K through fifth grades.
The theme for this year's camp is "Wonderfully made," taken from Psalm 139. Activities include supervised play, crafts, games, books, object lessons and sports. Camp is sponsored by Union Township, the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata and Locust Grove Mennonite Church.
Parents or guardians are required to register their child at the beginning of each session and sign out at the end of the day's program.
