Attempted burglary - July 6 - Police said they are investigating a criminal attempted burglary at a private residence along the 500 block of Edwardtown Road in Derry Township. According to the report, officers were dispatched to the residence after the home-owner discovered damage to the rear entry door of his residence. Police said there were pry-marks and attempted forcible entry damage observed around the door. According to the report, the homeowners believe the suspect did not defeat the lock and actual entry into the home was not made, but that is not clear at this time.

Act 64- 1:58 p.m. -July 5 - Police said they made a traffic stop on Brett Alan McGowan, of Millerstown, in the Giant parking lot in Howe Township, Perry County, after he failed to stop at a stop sign. According to the report, a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered drug paraphernalia and prohibited weapons. Police said the accused was released pending charges.

Theft - 1:20 p.m. - July 3 - Police said a 28-year-old female from Mount Union had $600 removed from her purse. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (814) 627-3161.
