Davis Holmes Neiner

DANVILLE - Davis Holmes Neiner, 59, of Pleasant Gap, died on June 18, 2014, at Hershey Medical Center in Danville.

Born March 29, 1955, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Burton Neiner and Jemima Holmes Neiner Metz, who survives in Belleville.

He was a graduate of Kishacoquillas High School in Reedsville and Cape Fear Technical Institute in North Carolina, where he studied marine technologies. He also attended the Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Awtonna, Minn.

Davis was the maintenance supervisor at the Walmart on Atherton Street. He enjoyed camping, especially during thunder storms, sailing, carpentry and exploring old dirt roads. He loved spending time with his grandson, Aaron, and anticipated the arrival of his new granddaughter.

He was proud of his Scottish heritage.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by: his three children, JoyAnna Neiner, of Pleasant Gap, Justin Neiner, of Brighton, Colo., and Janis (Morgan) Tracy, of San Antonio, Texas; their mother, Claudia Rist Neiner, of Tavernier, Fla.; four siblings, Janis (Ken) Hall, of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Douglas (JoAnne) Neiner, of Pittsfield, Mass., Wendy (William) Pellhan, of Willow Street, and Patricia Neiner (Lyn Garling), of Rebersburg; one grandson, Aaron Tracy; his girlfriend, Faye Struble, of Runville; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, with the Rev. Paul Auckland officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
