Quilters Guild blazing a trail

June 5, 2014
Lewistown Sentinel
Jim Buchanan, right, and his friend volunteer their time to hang a new quilt square on the side of barn Wednesday morning along state Route 655 near Reedsville. The Juniata Valley Quilters Guild designed and painted the 8-foot-by-8-foot quilt square and members of the club watch as the square is hung. This is the second square for the club, the first is in Mifflintown at Heirloom Cabinetry. Community Partnerships RC&D, in a joint venture with various local community groups, are in the process of creating the PA Quilt Trails throughout central Pennsylvania. A quilt trail is a series of 8-by-8 painted wood or metal pieces installed on barns, local businesses and significant architectural buildings in a sequence of places.
