Charles J. Wochley

MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS - Charles J. Wochley, 81, of Mount Pleasant Mills, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg, where he was living following a stroke on March 10, 2014.

He was married to the former Ruby F. Keller, who preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 2011.

Charles was born on Nov. 25, 1932, at home in Greenwood Township, Juniata County, the son of the late George Frederick and Maria (Pyle) Wochley. He attended Millerstown High School.

He and Ruby were married on Dec. 13, 1951, and honeymooned on their "once in a lifetime" trip to Florida. Upon returning home they began the purchase of the family farm from his father, and set about working a dairy farm, complete with laying chickens and beef cattle. At the time of his death, he was still actively farming the land.

He is survived by: three daughters, Colleen Ritter and husband, Delmar, of Middleburg, Jeanette Maben and husband, Craig, of Thompsontown, and Diann Jeffries and husband, Bob, of Port Royal; five grandchildren, Kyle Ritter and wife, Jennifer, of Dillsburg, Kirk Ritter and wife, Heather, of Middleburg, Mandy Jo Dysinger and husband, Eric, of Thompsontown, Joshua Kauffman, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Jessica Maben, of Thompsontown; nine great- grandchildren, Tristan, Olivia, Gretchen and Savannah Ritter, of Dillsburg, Jackson Ritter, of Middleburg, Cheyenne and Jacob Maben, of Thompsontown, and Wyatt and Aubree Dysinger, of Thompsontown; a brother, Robert Wochley and wife, Eleanor, of Mount Pleasant Mills; a sister, Jane Benner and husband, Gary, of McAlisterville; a sister-in-law, Fern Frymoyer, residing at Brookline Manor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harry and Ruth Keller; a brother, Carl Wochley; a brother-in-law, William Frymoyer; and a nephew, Dennis Benner.

Charles was a past member of Eastern Milk Producers Assoc., Young Farmers Assoc., Dairy Herd Improvement Assoc., Greenwood Grange and won numerous awards for his farming techniques and successes.

He was very active in the life of the churches he attended during his lifetime. He was a Sunday school teacher of various age groups and held numerous church positions.

He was an active Gideon and speaker, and was an active financial supporter of the organization as well as many other mission minded groups and individuals. His desire was to be a blessing to others, as God had blessed him, and share the good news of salvation and eternal life possible through belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Stony Run Mission, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Nicholas Smith and Pastor Brittin F. Stimeling officiating.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Rt. 35, Mount Pleasant Mills and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Stony Run Mission.

Burial will be made in Niemond's Cemetery, Richfield.
