LEWISTOWN - Clarence H. "Red" Gearhart, 87, formerly of Hillsdale Avenue, Lewistown, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter-William Penn.
He was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Milroy, the son of the late George E. and Ottessa (Collins) Gearhart. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Bibbee Gearhart, whom he married in 1948.
Also surviving are: children, Larry Gearhart and wife, Sue, of Yeagertown, Jacquline Wagner and husband, Thomas Sr., of Fayetteville, Linda Brittain and husband, Dennis Sr., of Siglerville, Joann Lynn and husband, Gregory, of Reedsville, and Steven Gearhart and wife, Deborah, of Lewistown; a brother, Jay Gearhart Sr. and wife, Faye, of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Red was preceded in death by: three sisters, Lorrain Bubb, Gertrude Civitts and Erma Gearhart; and a brother, Richard Gearhart.
Red was sales manager of Marlette, retiring in 1980. He then worked at Lingles's Distributing as sales manager, retiring in 1991.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 143, Lewistown, City and Yeagertown Fire Companies and American Legion Post No. 90.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating.
Interment, with military honors by VFW Post No. 7011, will be in Mount Rock Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
