COCOLAMUS - Cheerleaders at East Juniata High School are offering a countywide cheer camp for girls ages 5 through 12 this summer.
Elizabeth Neimond and Fantasia Eichelberger are heading up the program.
"We wanted to boost the overall interest in cheerleading," said Neimond, as Eichelberger noted the overall numbers are low for the Tiger squad.

Fantasia Eichelberger, left, and Elizabeth Neimond announce the East Juniata High School cheer camp for this summer.
Currently 15 girls are on the squad, and there are hopes to intrigue more young girls.
The camp is planned for 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 7 to 9 at the high school. Skills to be taught include jumps, small stunts, cheers and a dance routine.
Neimond said it would be wonderful to see 25 to 30 girls attend, but added she would love to see even more.
Ten EJHS cheerleaders, along with two coaches, Lori and Ashley Bashore, will lead the teaching.
A $20 registration fee per girl will aid the EJHS cheer boosters. Deadline to register is June 23.
The event is open to all Juniata County girls. Neimond said girls who live in the Juniata High School territory will enjoy it as well, adding, "At that age, the competitiveness between the two schools is not a big deal."
Eichelberger and Neimond are busy promoting the event by placing flyers in local elementary schools, at area businesses and throughout the community.
This is the duo's senior project, and they said they want other girls to see the significance of being part of such a team.
"(Cheerleading) gives you a positive look at the game, and it gives you a bond with the other girls," Neimond said.
"You make some good memories, and the players appreciate it, too" Eichelberger added.
Neimond also said, "How often do you get to learn how to lift someone above your head?"
Paperwork and registration will be available at the EJHS office. For more information, call 439-1733.
