Pianist and humorist Dale Gonyea will perform in Lewistown on Tuesday.
Gonyea is a painist, humorist and songwriter who personalizes each performance with a taste of local character and spirit.
At the age of 5, Gonyea got up early one morning and, without a single lesson, spontaneously began playing the piano. His parents were astonished because they did not have a piano. They decided he either needed therapy or a piano. Therapy was expensive, so they bought a piano and a career was born.
Gonyea uses the piano to springboard his unique brand of humor. He has written numerous songs for Disney and for stars like Bette Midler, Ray Stevens and Rich Little. He has earned an Emmy, a Clio nomination, and his song-spoof "I Need Your Help, Barry Manilow," was Grammy-nominated for Comedy Record of the Year.
Gonyea's television appearances include "Evening at the Improv," "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes," and he was a special musical reporter on "Entertainment Tonight."
The 2014-15 concert season begins in September and includes:
