First Baptist to host Bible conference
MIFFLINTOWN - A Bible conference is scheduled for 7 p.m. today and 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, on Route 35, in Mifflintown. The featured speaker is Dr. David Clemens, who has been involved in a national and international Bible teaching ministry for more than 35 years. A potluck meal will be held after the 10:15 a.m. service in the Family Ministry Center at the church.
Fair-trade goods to be sold at St. Mark's
LEWISTOWN - The Ten Thousand Villages Festival Sale is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. The sale helps skilled artisans in 38 countries receive a fair price for their products. Featured items include hand-loomed textiles, pottery, jewelry, baskets, toys and a variety of nativities. Items are marketed through Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit fair trade organization based in Akron, Pa. This year the sale is being held in conjunction with Artstock. White Memorial to host gospel concert
SIGLERVILLE - The White Memorial Congregationalist Church, in Siglerville, will host a gospel bluegrass concert by R.B. Powell at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Fundraising concert to be held Sunday
BELLEVILLE - The Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church will host the Thiel family in a fundraising concert to support the Brethren in Christ World Missions "Family to Family" project. The project helps relieve starvation in Zimbabwe.

Joy Seekers will not meet Memorial Day
LEWISTOWN - Joy Seekers Bible Study soon is celebrating its one-year anniversary. The study meets weekly at 6 p.m. on Monday evenings at Danny's Restaurant, on the square in Lewistown. The group's focus is relationship building and encouraging participants through the study of scripture. Joy Seekers will not meet on Memorial Day. Meetings will resume on June 2.

Local hymn sings to benefit health clinic
BELLEVILLE - Big Valley Community Hymn Sings are scheduled to be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month. The next event is scheduled for Jun 8 at University Mennonite Church, 1606 Norma St., State College.
An offering will be received for the Central Pennsylvania Clinic for Special Children and Adults. Donations are tax deductible and will be matched by the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
