McVEYTOWN - Raymond S. Crosson, 79, of U.S. Highway 522 South, McVeytown, died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Malta Home, Granville.
Born Feb. 24, 1935, in Ferguson Valley, he was a son of the late Samuel S. and Mabel (Goodman) Crosson. His wife, Margretta H. (Casner) Winn Crosson, whom he married Dec. 11, 1987, survives.
Also surviving are: four children, Polly Ann Munchel, of York, Samuel S. Crosson, of New Hampshire, Kenneth E. Crosson, of Lewistown, Debra A. Winn and fiance, Douglas J. Eby, of McVeytown; five brothers, William and wife, Ann, of Dover, Glenn and wife, Connie, Leroy and wife, Shirley, Pete and wife, Pat, Donald and wife, Brenda, all of McVeytown; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Robert W. Winn, and Sharon K. Bratton.
A sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, he served honorably for 12 and a half years.
Raymond was employed at Avtex Fibers, Standard Steel and in maintenance at the LeMed Building.
He was an avid reader of war stories.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Patricia Bollinger officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, as well as from 10 to 11 a.m Friday.
