By beginning a band concert with a march and followed by patriotic music set the scene for a very enjoyable concert at Juniata High School last night. Plus acknowledging each band member individually was a great idea. Way to go!
I think it's about time to cut the grass up at Buchanan School, it looks awful!
As a lifetime resident of Mifflin County - and I am very proud and thankful for our hometown hospital - I'm wondering when Geisinger is going to start the upgrade on our ER as promised?
I'd like to ask some questions: You work all your life, you try to pay for your house, you're retired and on a limited income and you don't have any kids in school, but your taxes keep going up. The county brings out a budget and they can't live by it, but yet you're on a budget and you have to live by it. They don't care about the people who are retired.
Concerning the pension plan for the county employees, I think they need a financial adviser. They are going to blow it on a 10-year loan. They should put their money in an individual retirement account. The way they are doing it only the bank is going to make out.
With so much negativity and complaints of people not wanting to work, brings to mind people who do want to work. Those deserving credit are your Sentinel carriers. They get up early in all kinds of weather, to make sure you have your morning paper. They're always nice and quiet as to not disturb you. Thanks for a job well done.
