Crash - 2:30 p.m. - May 10 - Police said a 16-year-old male, of Millerstown, was driving a 2005 Ford Ranger eastbound on state Route 17 in Greenwood Township, Perry County, and negotiated a left turn on the road. According to the report, Orlena M. Newman, 35, of Liverpool, was driving a 2012 Ford Focus westbound on state Route 17. Police said the 16-year-old male lost control of his vehicle while negotiating the left turn, causing him to veer into the oncoming lane of travel and hit Newman head-on. According to the report, the 16-year-old male was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash. Police said Newman also was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Millerstown EMS to Evangelical Community Hospital for treatment for her minor injuries. According to the report, both vehicles received disabling damage. Police said speed and wet conditions were a factor in this collision. According to the report, the 16-year-old male will be charged in the crash. Millerstown Fire/EMS assisted at the scene.
Theft - 2:30 a.m. - April 8 - Police have filed charges of theft, flight to avoid apprehension, and trespass by motor vehicle against Barry Carl Jr., 27, of Mount Union, following an investigation into suspicious activity in the area of North Franklin Street and Kistler Road. According to a report, the investigation determined that an amount of scrap metal had been stolen from the area and that Carl was responsible for the theft.
Theft - 5:05 p.m. - April 19 - Police said charges have been filed against Hector Ortiz, 27, of Huntingdon, for theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving under suspensions, after he allegedly stole a vehicle from 121 Hartman Village, Mount Union. According to a report, an arrest warrant was issued for Ortiz, who then turned himself in to police at the Mount Union Police Department on May 7. Police said Ortiz was arraigned and then committed to the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
DUI - April 20 - Police said David Hollibaugh, 30, of Mount Union, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop was conducted on North Division Street and West Pine Street.
DUI - 2:39 a.m. - April 20 - Police have filed charges against Sean Ransom, 40, of Mount Union, of felony fleeing or attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence, flight to avoid apprehension and reckless driving. According to the report, police saw an intoxicated passenger of a vehicle that had just been stopped in the area of North Division Street and West Pine Street. Police said during attempts to stop the vehicle, the driver fled from police. Police said they followed the vehicle for about eight miles when the driver came to a stop in Wayne Township, where he fled into the woods on foot. Police said a warrant for Ransom's arrest was issued and he was taken into custody by Mount Union Police on April 28. According to the report Ransom, was arraigned and committed to the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
