REEDSVILLE - James E. "Jim" Jackson Jr., 90, of 462 Honey Creek Road, Reedsville, died at 8:47 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter -William Penn, Lewistown.
Born Oct. 29, 1923, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James E. and Olive Mae (Ingle) Jackson Sr. His wife of 67 years, Selma A. (Brittain) Jackson, whom he married on June 1, 1946, survives.
Also surviving are: his children, Darryl G. Jackson and wife, Anna (Auman), of Milroy, and LuAnn G. (Jackson) Auman and her husband, Blair, of Milroy; five grandchildren, Lori Jackson and her companion, Randy Boulton, Darryl Jackson Jr. and his wife, Miranda (Bernat) Jackson, Crystal Jackson and her companion, Johnny Heister, Kory Auman, and Rachel (Auman) Franklin, and her husband, Jared Franklin; six great-grandchildren, Cody Jackson and wife, Mandi (Bilger) Jackson, Tyler Kuhns, Olivia Riden, Zane Jackson, Ashlynn Jackson and Avery Auman; three great-great-granchildren, Jayden Bilger, Gaige Jackson and Autumn Jackson; and many nieces and nephews who loved him.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Bowers.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He worked as a spinning engineer at American Viscose for 30 years. He retired in housekeeping at Lewistown Hospital after 15 years.
He was a member of White Memorial Congregational Church, Siglerville.
Jim was loved by his family and extended family. He was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with the Rev. Robert L. Zorn officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
