McALISTERVILLE - Ellen G. Sausser, 76, of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, and formerly of McAlisterville, died at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the manor.

Born on Nov. 10, 1937, in Freeburg, Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Edith M. (Troup) Shaffer. Her first husband, James W. "Bill" Shelley, and her second husband, William Sausser, both preceded her in death.

Surviving are: her children, Robert Shaffer and his wife, Sandra, of Dallas, Pa., James Shelley, of Thompsontown, and Pamela G. (Shelley) King and her husband, Ernie, of Mifflintown; siblings, William Shaffer, of Richfield, Alma Goodling, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Darlene Diebler, of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, William Jones, Christopher Jones, Jenna Brininger, Daris Shelley, Jason King, Jessica DeLancey, Heather Shelley and Barry Zimmerman; and she leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Patty Shellenberger, and one sister, Evelyn Graybill, preceded her in death.

Her memberships included the St. John's United Methodist Church, Cocolamus, and the Red Hat Society. She was a former member of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863, Mifflintown.

She retired from Lyons Fashions, McAlisterville, after more than 35 years of service.

Ellen enjoyed various activities including Bingo, bowling, knitting and traveling.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Michael Sigler officiating. After the service, interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at the funeral home.
