MILL CREEK - Beatrice G. (Rutherford) Harbaugh, 86, of Brady Township, Mill Creek, went to be with The Lord at 5:47 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Mill Creek.
Born April 12, 1928, in Mill Creek, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Gertrude (Kimmel) Rutherford. Mrs. Harbaugh was formerly married to Wayne E. Harbaugh, who survives in Oneida Township, Huntingdon County.
She is survived by: a son and daughter, Gregory A. Harbaugh and his wife, Ruth, of Allensville, and Cheryl S. Heidel and her husband, Doug, of Mill Creek; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Allen, Shannon Harbaugh, Gregory Harbaugh Jr. and his wife, Sandy, Curtis Harbaugh and his wife, Dee, Travis Harbaugh, Shawn Harbaugh, Chandra Heidel and Joshua Heidel; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marian V. White, of Mill Creek, Brady Township.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Stephen W. Harbaugh, on Nov. 20, 2009; a daughter-in-law, Bettina M. Harbaugh, on July 13, 2007; and one brother and four sisters, William Rutherford, Margaret Bailey, Regina Miller, Dorothy Moneta and Irene Bowser.
Mrs. Harbaugh was a member of the Ardenheim Independent Brethren Church, Huntingdon.
She was a former member of the Red Bud Quilting Club of Huntingdon.
She attended elementary school in Calvin and Rostraver High School in Belle Vernon.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Harbaugh was employed by the former Gerbo Footwear, Huntingdon, and later by the former Vogt's Sewing Factory, Allensville.
She was an avid quilter and enjoyed embroidering, bird watching, attending church and social events, and most importantly, loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, the Rev. George C. "Buddy" Baird officiating. Interment will be in the Mountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the funeral home.
