East Juniata 10, Lourdes Regional 5
COCOLAMUS - East Juniata got two extra base hits and three RBIs from MaKenna Yetter and they won its first game of the 2014 with a 10-5 win over Lourdes Regional.
Meisha Heintzelman added three hits and two RBIs for the Tigers.
East Juniata will look to continue its winning ways when they travel to Selinsgrove today.
East Juniata 10, Upper Dauphin 2
ELIZABETHVILLE - It took East Juniata five innings to break through against Upper Dauphin, but when they did, it was huge.
The Tigers struck for three runs in the fifth inning and added seven more the final two frames as they defeated Upper Dauphin 10-2 on Saturday.
Nick Lorenz homered in the sixth inning for East Juniata.
The Tigers will host rival Juniata on Tuesday.
Mifflin County Tomahawks 34, Port Matilda Flash 18
The Mifflin County Tomahawks defeated the Port Matilda Flash 34-18 at Rec Park Saturday.
Jace Maurer stepped in for the injured Lashawn Brown going 13 out of 18 for 63 yards and a touchdown. Maurer also used his feet scrambling for 66 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Timmy Beck helped the cause by returning a kickoff five yards deep in his own end zone 55 yards for a TD.
The defense was outstanding again only giving up two scores. Joe Mohr and Brian Reinhart had six tackles each and Mike Short adding four. Jordan Bell stole the show grabbing four interceptions and returning one for a TD.
The Tomahawks move to 5-1 on the season and are on the road this Saturday to take on the Huntingdon County Elite.
