LEWISBURG - Erica R. Mulberger was appointed as executive director of the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corporation effective April 14.
Mulberger was a senior finance manager with CPWDC before becoming the acting director in January.
Mulberger and her team will lead discussions and actions connecting workforce, education and economic development in central Pennsylvania. She will also lead a 41-member board of directors and a 9-member board comprised of local elected officials.
She plans to enhance workforce initiatives, utilize technology to serve a greater population of customers and put CPWDC in the forefront of all workforce-related issues around the region.
"I'm eager to lead CPWDC and the region's six PA CareerLink facilities. CPWDC has a strong staff dedicated to connecting employers' needs with workforce development to enhance the skills of the current and next generation of workers," she said.
A graduate of Montoursville Area High School and Bloomsburg University, Mulberger earned her bachelor's degree in business administration, focusing on accounting. A native of Lycoming County, she currently resides in Selinsgrove.
CPWDC serves as the workforce investment board for Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties. Incorporated in 1999, CPWDC is responsible for coordinating and developing central Pennsylvania's workforce system.
